Ways to style the humble flannel.

Hey! Dash here,

Not really ready to get rid of your Autumn/Winter flannels yet? Well, me neither! And with a couple of these tips you won’t have to.

I’m quite attached to my flannels and checkered shirts and I wear them constantly, so I’ve got a couple of refreshing ways to have you wearing  your flannels all the way into those scorching hot summer days.

Tied at the waist.

This can be a cute way to go about keeping it in your outfit, if it’s too hot to wear.

2. Tied at the chest.

This is an old one but a good one, another style great for hot weather.
Buttoned all the way up or just left open this looks really cute.

3.Over a huddy.

For cooler Spring days, wearing it over a huddy can be good ides, especially if you’re in want of wearing a jacket.

4.Under a t-shirt or sweatshirt.

A bit like wearing you’re flannel or checkered shirt under a jumper in the Winter, this is basically the same idea and has a similar look to it. It’s a good way to bring the style into Spring/Summer but leaving the jumpers behind.

5.Over a little black dress.

A LBD will go with anything and everything and teaming it with a flannel will give you a much more casual, edgy look.

6. Closing just the very top button.

Closing just the top button and pairing it with a loose and laidack dress can really make for a pretty spring time outfit.

7.Tucked into a little skater skirt.

8.Open and over-sized, sitting over a light  Summer dress. The perfect mix of masculinity and femininity, very easy and very chic.

9. Adding statement jewellery.

A little bit of embellishment can really bring some life into an old look.

10. Really oversized.

A really oversized flannel or checkered shirt, maybe from the men’s department or a women’s large if you’re normally a small can be a perfect spring time dress, whether you want to wear it Buttoned all the way up, off the shoulders or with an oversized belt pulling it in a the waste.

11. As a beach over up.

A clever way to wear it if you’re heading to the beach. Actual flannels, with that thick material can be really good for this as they’ll keep you really warm, when the sun goes in, which is a must to think if when you’re heading to the beach in Dublin. (one minute it’s scorching and the next you’d swear you were living at the north pole.)

Hope this gave you some Spring/Summer style inspiration!

Talk soon,

Dash xx

Maybe another fashion tip- take old flannels and cut a scrap to wear as a small scarf!
