Styling the fabulous LBD

Hey, Dash here!

The LBD.

The little black dress.

It’s gorgeous,  it’s iconic and you really can’t go wrong with it. Made famous by the fabulous Coco Chanel, during the 1920’s and still going strong today, it’s safe to say this little wonder won’t be going anywhere, anytime soon.

But, even though you can’t go wrong with it, there’s no harm in adding some personality to the dress! (Let’s face it, what is an outfit without that little dash of personality?)

Whether you’re pop culture trendy, edge-y alternative, frilly-girly or a but if a Tomboy, you can pull off a dress like this no problem. Though,  it’s obvious you’ve got your own unique style. So, why not flaunt you individuality?

Here’s some inspiration for you budding fashionista for styling this gorgeous staple piece.

Add a flannel.

Who doesn’t love a good flannel? Their are multiple ways you can wear it and I just find this brilliant!  Tie it at the waist, loose like a tie top or throw in own as it is. This is a great way to make seem more casual and laid back. Pair it with some converse, boots, or a cute satchel.

Shrug on that denim jacket.

Do you own a denim jacket?  No you say? Well go get one, I don’t know how you’ve made it this far in life without one in your wardrobe. They’re versatile and simply fabulous. They go well with everything and the LBD is no exception.

Again, like the flannel it dresses it down and it’s just perfect for the hot summer weather that I can only dream of this early into spring.

Layered with necklaces and chokers!

I’m a complete and utter jewellery obsessor. I have more jewellery than I have friends, that’s how obsessed I am… Anyways, layering up some jewellery on a little black dress can be really effective on livening it up a bit, or if you wear it a lot give it a new lease of life. This can be really fun because you can really choose any necklaces you like nd make it really you.

Knee-high socks…

Do you always wear your LBD with tights? Well, why don’t you try out some knee highs? Especially of you usually wear black tights and don’t want to change colour   the knee-highs give a good break between material. They’re also a good way of injecting some colour.

Another great injection if colour, which is great and so on trend for this spring summer season are shoes!

Oversized jumpers…

I’ve said again and again that I adore oversized jumpers and they just give such a comfy, soft feel to the lovely black dress and as knit wear is very on trend for the coming Spring/Summer.

Girly frills and flower crowns.

Want to embrace your inner tumblr girl? Well, if so some cute little frilly socks and a vibrant flower crown could be just what you need. This is another great way to inject some colour into your look but also a great way to set your inner girly-girl free, without breaking the bank.

Hopefully these pretty little ideas have inspired you!
