Planning to brave the sales this month? Whether you’re like me and adore the rush and enjoyment you get out of shopping during sale season or you’re just heading out to the shops in hopes of a good bargain or two, I’ve got a couple of tips for you.
So, first off. When someone says the words ‘massive sales’ or ‘January sales’ what things come to mind? For me it’s the huge crowds of bargain craving shoppers. This to me can be a little bit terrifying! It’s a bit of an obvious one but if you’re going to go sales shopping make sure you’re there early. Turning up there midday in the midst of the crowd, when half the bargains are gone, really isn’t the wisest decision. There’s also nothing better than getting in early and finishing up just in time to bypass the crowds. The feeling of being able to kick back and relax as the crowds pile in is great.
I’d also suggest not going it alone. Bring a bestie! Or whoever you can grab. Whether they’re there for bag holding or moral support it’s bests bringing someone with you. I find sometimes, especially when it comes to buying clothes that having someone else’s opinion can help massively. Having someone that’s willing to help can make your shopping expedition much easier.
When it comes to actually buying products all I can really say is make sure it’s actually a good sale item. A bargain should be less expensive than usual but also something that you’d really want if it wasn’t on sale. I don’t know how many times I’ve bought something because it was cheap. I know I defiently do this with clothes, all the time. I’ll see something that’s cheap, convince myself I need it and then never use or wear it, ever. (It’s the reason I currently have half a wardrobe full of t-shirts that I’ll never wear.)
Try not to fall into this trap, it’s dreadful.
Oh and lastly try and enjoy the madness of shopping during the sales as it’s the first big thing to kick off your January.
So go on, take a deep breath and charge head first into the shopping craziness!
